Beaujolais Nouveau, one of the famous festivals in France, is happening tonight at 6pm at the Harbor Garden Tent of Sofitel Manila Hotel.
Beaujolais Nouveau is a young red wine made from handpicked Gamay grapes grown in the Beaujolais region of France. Today, about half of the region’s production is sold as Beaujolais Nouveau, a name coined by George Duboeuf for the local vin de l’année (French term that means “this year’s wine”). While most red wines improve with age, Beaujolais Nouveau is all about freshness. Many wine producers in France race to deliver the first production of this wine to celebrations throughout France and all over the world.
In the Philippines, the French Chamber of Commerce in the Philippines-Le Club heads this special celebration through the event entitled Soirée Beaujolais 2011 Paris La Nuit. Along with the French community, the international and local business communities and the Manila elite, the Beaujolais Nouveau celebration this year at Sofitel Philippine Plaza showcases authentic French Cancan music featuring French Cancan Girls who are flying in from France for the special occasion. Guests will enjoy free-flowing Beaujolais Nouveau and other fine wines from the Beaujolais region in France coupled with a wide array of cheeses and charcuterie. Also, fabulous raffle prizes await guests attending the event.
